Everyone has things they regret and wish they could change in their life, even though I feel as if I make more than others we all make them. A couple of things I regret that would change my life if they had gone another way are things such as going to open gyms for baseball before try outs. Another thing I regret is putting my iPhone in my backpack at football, which allowed it to be stolen.
Now I have made a lot of mistakes in my life nut what I regret the most is not spending as much time with my great uncle like I used to. I regret playing football instead of going over his house like I did as a kid and having the best times with him. Sometimes I wonder if maybe losing him so fast would hurt less if I had spent more time with him to know how bad he was. Losing my uncle at the end of last school year was a tough blow to the head and heart. If he was still around I would feel more complete and normal. All I know is I will never regret the time I spent with him ,or the countless hours I spent helping him. Even though thinking about the times with him brings back the pain with it comes joy.

Values Aren't Just Values
In life everyone has their own set of values, but mines a weird combination. I value many things which include family, even though family is valued by many, mine goes deeper than normal. To me family is not measured by just being related, when there is a massive family like mine then family is measured by closeness. I have nine uncles and three aunts who all have about three kids but more than half my uncles have five or more kids, that is just on my moms side. With a family like that I have to measure family by closeness especially with more cousins coming out of the woodwork every couple of years.
Another thing I value is life and taking chances. I sometimes ponder what happens when we die, but the truth is I would rather spend my time living life to the fullest than thinking about death. This is why one of my mottos in life is "Try before I die". To me this means that if I have a chance to do something in life I should take it and have that experience before I die. I want people to look at my tombstone when I am dead, and know that I tried my best and lived my life to the fullest.

My Amazing Summer
This summer has been a fun one. I went and hung out with friends I have not seen in awhile. I had a weekend were I went to Kalahari for a night and two days with all my little cousins, as well as my immediate family. Then two days later we all went to Cedar Point, and it was fun to see all my little cousins smiling faces. Although that weekend was fun, my favorite event of the summer was baseball season. Baseball is my life, and it saddened me when I went into the season knowing that it could be my last. That is unless I made the high school team, of course. In baseball I learned how to play first and third base, however my favorite position to have learned was catcher. I believe, there are two major thrills in the game which both revolve around home sweet home... plate. Batting is fun but the true thrill is being under that mask and being able to see that field for what it really is. A home away from home, a place that I receive the most joy in life.

To Understand Me First You Need To Know My Name!!!!!
Sometimes I have a big ego and think of myself as a gift from God. I mean my name is Matthew which does mean "gift from God". My name was passed down to me from my dad like a family heirloom. His parents named him after the Saint Matthew from the Bible.
My emotions about my name are mixed. One, my left side brain is not happy with the name Matthew because it is a very common name. When I think about it I know at least ten other Matthews. The right side of my brain believes that my name fits my personality. The name Matthew is commonly known or associated with a very athletic, nice, caring guy. Matthews are jokesters who love to have fun and are sometimes seen as over confident. I believe that Matthew is a perfect fit for my personality. This is how I feel about my name.

My Number One Unwritten Law!!
In life there are many unwritten laws that dictate us on how to live our day to day lives. One unwritten law that is important to me is the rule to stay true to myself. The meaning of staying true to myself is sticking by my morals and beliefs in life. An example of staying true to myself is: being around a group of people who make a decision and, either I make the decision to do the same thing as the group or maybe I disagree with the group, but I make the decision off of what I feel is right. When I stick to myself and my morals I ultimately become the person I and others are proud of. This is my most important unwritten law of life that anyone can learn to follow and use in their everyday lives.
